The Desires of our Hearts......

     

This summer we have gotten to do some fun projects with some of our teams. These were not necessary, life-changing projects, but oh the joy they brought to our communities. It was such a treat to be able to bless our neighbors with something completely outside of the mindset of need and just give them a gift. One talented team painted this beautiful mural on the wall at our local school, here in Lo de Reina. As the children play outside every day at recess, they now have a colorful, fun picture to look at. Another team built and installed some benches up the mountain in the community of La Laguna. What a beautiful park-like setting the community now has to enjoy their gorgeous lagoon. 

                     


This got me thinking.......as happy as it made us to bless our communities, how much more does our Heavenly Father enjoy giving us gifts. Psalm 37:4 says "Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart". Are you delighting in the Lord today? Have you told Him the desires of your heart? I can think of many times God has blessed me with the desires of my heart. Sometimes they are small and seemingly unimportant, yet He provides them because they bring me joy.

I encourage you to take time to "delight in the Lord". Spend extra time with Him. Bask in His presence and allow Him to fill you. Time spent with God is never time wasted. Delight in Him today.
